Air pollution, atmospheric cancer

Atmospheric cancer is the disease of the century!

 

You can't escape the air you breathe. When the cost of energy rises, there are always trade-offs.

When air quality deteriorates, what do you do? You have 1 minute to get away from it.

And when your lungs are attacked and COPD is among the top chronic diseases (other WHO estimates) ... will you breathe with your liver?

As a reminder, since 1986, clouds no longer stop at borders. Anyway, the last few months have proved that we can be completely self-sufficient in producing our own air pollution, good local pollution, made in France.

 

For a long time now, we have been aware of the link between environmental risks, particularly those linked to various forms of pollution, and their consequences in terms of health risks. Air pollution is undoubtedly the most visible phenomenon - paradoxically - and the most immediately alarming. No one can escape it, it's a 'fair' form of pollution in that it affects everyone, rich and poor alike, it's a long-term form of pollution that kills right now (see WHO estimates), and it's a form of pollution that hits where it hurts: our health (mine and my children's, not that of the biosphere or the polar bears) - the public cost of public health impacts - and economic competitiveness (absenteeism, lower work rates, loss of attractiveness, etc.).

For all these reasons, this air pollution is both very insidious ... and very virtuous:

- it thwarts the theories of climatoseptics (who could argue that air pollution is not due to human activity?);

- it forces politicians to act;

- it is urgent, bringing the long environmental deadlines closer to us;

- it costs, in lives and in currency;

- it is directly experienced and suffered by public opinion, which is putting up with it less and less;

- it is an accelerator of alternative innovations ...
