The 2014 edition of the CES ( Consumer Electronic Show ) was held in Las Vegas. This unmissable event allowed many companies to present thousands of high-tech products that will be part of our lives in the very near future. Among all the innovations on display, we have chosen to present you the 10 that made the biggest impression on us.
1. A mini drone capable of climbing walls
The future of most emerging technologies is undetermined, but that's not the case with drones, a real concentrate of technology that will soon make them indispensable. But this mini drone goes further than the existing ones by enriching the experience with even more sensors and two large side wheels allowing it to climb walls with ease. This mini drone has neither a fixed price nor a planned release date for the time being, so we'll have to wait and see.
2. LG's curved screen TV
LG is proud to present its spectacular 105-inch curved 4Ko TV. It wasn't the largest of the 4Ko TVs on display, as Samsung also equalled that feat with a 110-inch TV. In both cases, these televisions are technological feats in the consumer display category, all things considered, since this one still costs 69,999$.
3. The "Myris Eyelock" which will scan your iris
The "Myris Eyelock" has the particularity of being able to scan your iris with a device the size of a mouse, which plugs into one of the USB ports of your computer. The purpose of this is to be able to use your iris as a password to unlock access to certain sites or services requiring some form of identification. The sale of this little wonder is planned for mid-2014.
4. Tegra K1, Nvidia's new high-performance chip
The big graphics processor brand Nvidia has taken the opportunity to present its new high-performance chip entitled: Tegra K1. With these small chips packed with technology, Nvidia replaces the original 72 cores with 192 cores. From now on, the level of graphics in video games or mobile devices is likely to be dazzling.
5. The Pebble smartwatch
The Pebble brand is promising its latest creation a real success with its new smartwatch. Forget the plastic straps, and make way for steel for unmistakable refinement. Pebble is reinventing itself for a whole new audience, refining the design and functionality of its watches with remarkable distinction.
6. The ultra-light camcorder from Sony
Sony decided to go beyond its limits by creating a camcorder of impressive size and lightness, to offer better handling to lovers of movement and quality. The most surprising thing about this latest model extension is the price, which is only 2000$, rather surprising for a 4Ko camcorder with so many quality features.
7. Ford's solar panels
Ford does not pretend to impress the public, as its latest creation is more than captivating. The car, which at first glance is nothing fundamentally different, combines design with ecology in a subtle way. The 75% provides the energy for its operation through solar panels discreetly placed on its roof, which makes this high-tech car a pleasant surprise.
8. The "June" connected bracelet
Through its neat aesthetics, this connected bracelet named "June", created by Netatmo, is a real little gem. Indeed, this small accessory has the capacity to evaluate your exposure to the sun, the dose of UV received and to display small advice accordingly. All of this is at your fingertips on your smartphone thanks to the application provided for this purpose.
9. The Makerbot Z18 3D Printer
3D printing is becoming increasingly popular at the moment. But while some people are content with three-dimensional printing of relatively small objects, this Makerbot Z18 3D printer is in a class of its own, since its imposing size enables it to print large objects, such as lamps or small pieces of furniture, or even 10 small objects simultaneously. For 6 499$, you can narrow the gap between your dreams and reality.
10. Samsung's curved screen TV
Samsung's curved TV exceeds public expectations. Samsung has presented a prototype of an 85-inch TV that can be viewed either curved or flattened. Destined to be adopted by users very quickly, this television of notable quality makes us melt under its pretty curves.
CES 2014 was particularly strong in innovations this year. Between the curved televisions and the featherweight camcorders, we can't wait to see these products invade our daily lives ^_^! And you, which of these products would you like to own?
... for me it's obviously the Ford solar panels ... which seem to be an obvious choice, even if we're only at the very beginning.
The Ford C-MAX Solar Energi was developed in partnership with SunPower Corp. and the Georgia Institute of Technology.
