The CEEBIOS, European Centre of Excellence in Biomimicry in Senlis, aims to create on the former military site of the Ordener district a set of complementary activities linked to a rapidly growing discipline:<\/p>\n

In the spirit of a campus, the centre will promote exchanges and cooperation between scientists, research and development teams from major industrial groups, engineers, specialised start-ups, teachers and students.<\/p>\n

The objective is ambitious and innovative: to make the site a unique, recognised and renowned reference point for the development and creation of jobs, for the influence of the city and the region, and for this sector of the future.<\/p>\n

CEEBIOS is a first in Europe and an opportunity for the future.<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Biomimicry is ultimately about doing research in a different way, drawing inspiration from living things to take advantage of the solutions and inventions produced by nature.<\/p>\n

Defined by Janine Benyus in 1997, this approach to innovation involves the transfer and adaptation of principles and strategies developed by living organisms and ecosystems to produce innovative goods and services and to meet the challenges of our society.<\/p>\n

The main interest of the biomimetic approach is to encourage the development of human activities through a humble and ethical approach that makes them sustainable and compatible with nature.<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

A fast-growing discipline, it is at the heart of companies' innovation strategies.<\/p>\n
