They are not all at the same level of maturity, but they will all draw on the creativity and inventiveness of R&D centres. Today, smart cities

Smart city, why it should be followed closely in 2015 :

The concept of the smart city, which appeared in the mid-2000s, is intended to accompany the urbanisation of the planet in a context of economic change and environmental and demographic pressure. 6.3 billion people on Earth are expected to live in cities by 2050. The smart cities market could reach 40 billion by 2020 or 100 billion by 2030, according to the firm Alcimed. Smart cities are already springing up all over the world, making them one of the 2015 tech trends to watch closely....

From data capture to smart and autonomous devices to data processing and communication. Urban expansion puts the city at the forefront of environmental challenges. It must better distribute and save electricity, water and gas resources; but it must also make services such as transport and waste management more accessible and dynamic. At the heart of these changes are information and communication technologies (ICT). Software and telecoms open up new perspectives for industry and new types of services for city users.

The technical challenges are numerous. From an energy point of view, for example, the challenge is to link the areas of high energy production - the energy islands - with the most consuming neighbourhoods, but also to distribute or store the energy produced locally by each individual.

Finally, a city, however intelligent, is the city of its inhabitants, who must make these technologies their own. Technical innovation is intimately mixed with social innovation. In particular, it will be necessary to provide guarantees on the anonymisation of the data collected, and on their openness to enable all the players to communicate with each other.

Because there are a lot of players, still looking for their industrialization model...

...such as Thales and its outstanding work in Mexico City. In collaboration with the operatorTelmexThe French company has developed an integrated security system for Mexico City with 8 000 cameras and five control centres. It allows all incidents to be handled and human resources to be managed in real time. Thanks to this system, the response time has been reduced from 15 minutes in 2009 to less than 4 minutes today. In addition to Thales, the leading manufacturers to be followed are ABB, Bolloré, Bosch, Cisco, JCDecaux, GDFsuez, IBM, Microsoft, Philips, Schneider Electric, Siemens, Veoliaetc. By 2030, 100 billion dollars will be invested in the "smart grid" worldwide, according to the innovation consulting firm Alcimed.

And already many examples to follow closely ...

In this month's issue of 28 August, theUsine Nouvelle lists the 67 most advanced cities in terms of intelligence. All continents are concerned, but Europe is ahead.

In France in particular, theAdeme has already financed a dozen demonstrators on the issue, including Issy-les-MoulineauxThis is a symbol of the environmentally friendly, more connected neighbourhood. At Fort d'IssyThe city has reintroduced orchards and a pneumatic waste collection system, and each home has a meter Linky and a home automation boxIjenko. A Lyonthe demonstrator Lyon Smart Community makes the Greater Lyon and theNedothe Japanese equivalent of the Ademe. The smart metropolis strategy driven by Greater Lyon is tackling four areas of application: new mobility; digital services; energy and smart grids; and the conditions for innovation.

A consortium of ten industrialists (Alstom, Bouygues Telecom, Bouygues Energies et services,
Bouygues immobilier, EDF, ERDF, Microsoft, Schneider Electric, Steria and Total)
has been working since 2012 to make Issy-les-Moulineaux connected.

As part of its reflections on the city of the future, Bouygues Immobilier has produced an animated video presenting future developments that will improve daily life in a connected city that is more respectful of the environment: green public transport, cycle paths above the city, shared gardens, shared parking spaces, new services, etc.

Source: http://www.industrie-techno.com See on Scoop.it – Alain Renaudin En 2015, les villes auront besoin d’innovations pour devenir (vraiment) intelligentes LE CHOIX DE LA RÉDACTION | ENERGIE & ENVIRONNEMENT | SMART GRID | CAPTEUR | NUMÉRIQUE & INFORMATIQUE |NUMÉRIQUE | SMARTPHONE | 15 LEVIERS D’INNOVATION POUR 2015 PAR PHILIPPE PASSEBON PUBLIÉ LE 19/12/2014 À 17H21 , … Continue reading In 2015, cities will need innovation to become (truly) smart

"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paywalled_content":false
_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false
[193035186,1179733,193035206

post-1500","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-environnement-la-pige","category-partages","category-societe-la-pige
["GET
